Deliver life-saving medical equipment to Syrian hospitals
During October 2023, at least 15 medical facilities in Syria have been targeted by attacks, severely straining the healthcare system's capacity to tend to hundreds of critically injured patients in need of immediate assistance.
The need for medical aid in Syria is pressing, and time is of the essence. Sanctions imposed by the international community has made it difficult to import medical supplies to Syria from overseas, and Aid Pioneers one of few international organizations that hold the necessary licenses.
Your donation allows us to deliver medical supplies critically needed to save lives and alleviate the suffering of the affected population.
Syria Briefing
-
Northwest Syria is currently facing an escalating wave of attacks, resulting in widespread devastation. This adds to the challenges in a region already strained by 12 years of conflict, natural disasters, economic instability, and significant population displacement.
-
We send containers containing life-saving medical equipment to hospitals and clinics treating civilians. In 2023, Aid Pioneers has delivered medical consumables worth 630.000 USD to our local partner organizations.
-
Aid Pioneers exclusively works with local organizations operating in regions not controlled by the Assad regime. The 4.5 million people living in the area depend on international assistance.

A network of international partners determined to support Syrian health care facilities
Thanks to our international network of partners, it currently costs Aid Pioneers 20.000 USD to send one 40-ft container full of hand-picked medical supplies worth between 350.000 and 500.000 USD to our partners in Syria. This is how we do it:
Needs assessment: Together with our local partners, Aid Pioneers compiles lists of items most critically needed by Syrian hospitals and primary health care centers (PHCs).
Packing the goods: Project C.U.R.E. hand-packs the disaster relief container in the US in close collaboration with the Aid Pioneers medical procurement team.
Over the sea: Once packed, Flexport or Kuehne+Nagel deliver the supplies from Project C.U.R.E.’S warehouses in the US to Türkiye via sea or air freight, donating the shipping costs to Aid Pioneers.
Last-mile delivery & distribution: In Türkiye, the supplies are loaded into smaller vehicles and our local partners distribute them to hospitals and PHCs.
