War in Ukraine

On the 24th of February, 2022, Russia launched an attack war against the sovereign state of Ukraine. Aid Pioneers’ guidelines state, that we are only to execute emergency responses in countries in which we have already established solid ties with partner organisations.

As the largest humanitarian crisis since WWII was to unfold in Europe, we had to act. Within one week of Russia’s first attack, the first transport with humanitarian goods reached the Ukrainian borders.

Since summer 2022, we operate in two work streams: humanitarian relief and medical procurement for Ukraine. If you are looking for information on our medical goods supply to Ukrainian frontline hospitals, please find it here.

Response Overview

We only send what is needed.

As in all our projects, we work in close contact with our local partners to ensure that our impact is effective. Heart for the Children of Ukraine, the local partners in this project, coordinate the distribution of sent items across Ukraine and let us know which items are needed. We do not send trucks of random donations over the border, and never have. A diligent needs assessment is the foundation all our emergency responses are built upon.

We provide a channel for corporate partners do donate effectively.

Aid Pioneers is a bridge-building organization that seeks to leverage donations to have maximum impact. By building effective cooperations with various corporate partners, we have created a pipeline through which to send donations at minimum cost to Ukraine. In this network of strategic partnerships, every donor contributes what they do best, and everyone contributes their bit to create an impact that is larger than the sum of its parts.

Our partner organization Heart for the Children of Ukraine grew from an organization focused on child welfare to one of the main distributors of foreign humanitarian aid in the Rivne region as the attack war on Ukraine began. Heart for the Children of Ukraine has been our main partner in the Ukraine emergency response project since day one.
