Art with Impact: €44K raised for reliable power in Ethiopia
It’s been an eventful week at Aid Pioneers!
Exactly one week ago, we hosted an art auction at Clärchens Ballhaus in support of Karat Primary Hospital in Ethiopia - and thanks to your incredible generosity, we raised €44,075 (!!) to equip the hospital with a sustainable solar energy system that will deliver reliable power for life-saving medical care.
Karat Primary Hospital serves a population of over 700,000 people, yet like many hospitals in Ethiopia, it faces frequent and prolonged power outages. With solar energy, the hospital will gain access to reliable electricity, powering everything from life-saving equipment to safe childbirths. It’s a simple, sustainable solution with far-reaching impact. Learn more about the project and Karat Hospital here
Solar panels aren’t a small investment - but thanks to the incredible generosity of our community, and the 17 amazing artists who donated their work, we raised nearly half the funds needed to bring sustainable power to Karat Primary Hospital.
We're deeply grateful to everyone who showed up, placed a bid, and made this vision possible.
This was more than an art auction - we proved that art really can save lives!
Special appreciation to Dr. Philipp Württemberg for masterfully leading the auction, and to Johanna Petersen and Henrietta Frankenheim for organizing an event that truly brought purpose and creativity together.
Stay tuned for updates as the installation begins, and thank you for being part of this journey.
